NOSTALGIC FAVORITES

I have such fond memories of wintry days, sitting in front of the fireplace with a cup of my mother’s homemade hot cocoa and a well-loved book. I grew up in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, and in the winter time, it would snow for days and days. And the snow would pile up. And we would have to shovel off the driveway and a path to our front door and the roof of our house. And the snowplow would pile the snow right at the corner by our house and make a huge sledding hill for us! Fun memories!

Here are some of my favorite books from those days. They are still fun to read, and they bring back good memories.

Paddington Marches On by Michael Bond

I love all the of the Paddington Books. View the complete collection here:

A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett

Read the book, and then watch the movie. It has Shirley Temple as Sara Crewe, and it’s really cute!

I hope this Christmas Season is full of joy and gladness for you and all of your loved ones! Give yourself time to slow down, read a good book, and remember Our Savior, The Reason for The Season.
