Put on your makeup before putting on your dress. And then be very careful with putting on your dress. Step into it, if you can. If it has to go over your head, hold the dress well away from your face. Have someone help you, such as your maid of honor. And if you are touching up your makeup, possibly in between the ceremony and the reception, consider taking off your dress while you do it.

Tide Stain Remover

And tuck it into your first aid kit for easy access

Note: Always test stain remover first! Test it in an inconspicuous place, like the underside of the hem, in the back of the dress.

EXTRAS

DRESS

You might wear a dress to the venue that’s not your wedding dress. And you might be planning to wear that dress, as well, when you leave. So, you will want a garment bag for it. This dress is going to go through a lot on your wedding day.

Do you need different underclothing to go with your getaway dress? Add what you need to your undergarment bag.

HAIR CARE & ACCESSORIES

What are you going to do with your hair once the veil and tiara and any extras are taken off? Add that into your hair accessories bag.

MAKEUP

Make sure you have the makeup that goes with the getaway dress, for a quick touch up. And do your makeup touch up after the wedding dress is off and before the getaway dress is on!

Be sure to add this to your makeup case.

JEWELRY

Are you switching jewelry? Maybe taking off some of the fancier jewelry and replacing it with something softer? Add that into your collection of jewelry.

SHOES, SLIPPERS, BOOTS

Have a second bag for your wedding shoes. Especially if the weather is inclement. You do not want to put your wedding slippers into the same bag that held your wet boots!

Pack what’s appropriate for what shoes you are going to wear. For example, if you wore sandals with your wedding dress but are wearing boots with your getaway dress, then don’t forget socks! Be sure to add it to your bag of nylons and socks.

Have everything ready, collected, and put into one bag before the big day. Then you can just grab your bag and go get married!

Share a printout with a family member or your maid of honor, and have that person help you remember everything.

And when the wedding and reception are over, and you are ready for the getaway, have someone tuck your tote, with everything in it, into the getaway car. Then you and your new husband will be ready to make your grand exit!

And most importantly, remember to enjoy your beautiful wedding day celebration!
