I love book nooks and seating areas anywhere they can be put! This is a very cozy nook.

One thing to consider is not doing built-ins. This built in bench and shelving has just limited the use of this space. Leave the space open so you can change it when you want to. That way you can have a bench with accent pillows and a bookcase, or 2 accent chairs and a charming round table in between, or a console table with lamps and a candy bowl, or 1 accent chair and a grandfather clock. Fun ways to change and rearrange. So don’t limit the possibilities!

A clean and elegant kitchen. Kept simple with no upper cabinets. Beautiful, functional, practical.

And the rockwork brings in texture and interest and natural color. This kitchen is perfect just as it is-it doesn’t need anything else.

A charming breakfast nook, with much attention given to details and extras.

A row of beautiful light fixtures is a simple way to make your home look high end.

Ceiling beams and an elegant chandelier give this master bedroom a beautiful focal point.

Some tile is like artwork. I think this tile is the exception to my rule of keep permanent surfaces simple. I might never get tired of this beautiful tile!

This home has some strikingly beautiful upgrades.

I love stairways with seating areas in the landings. And this one is beautiful.

Gothic arch hallways give the home a castle-like feeling. A gorgeous and stately design feature.

This rambler has a lot of its living space in the basement. Which is fine, if you are fine with basement living. If you prefer above ground and windows and daylight and sunshine, then keep this in mind as you look at ramblers. Generally, the bigger the rambler, the more there will be living space in the basement.

The kitchen has lots of prep space, which is beautiful and practical. And notice the upgrades on the countertops.

This room had fun bunkbeds. They look like they are handpainted, which is an upgrade that you can do yourself!
